New England Weather in Southern Louisiana!!

Our Accurite weather station tells it all.....this is the photo I took on the 24th of last month and put in one of the blogs about the weather....the "southern cold front".    Well, today is the 6th of February and conditions are just about exactly the same!!   Temperature is 31 degrees and outdoor humidity is 94% but what's a "couple of degrees amongst friends".....point being, this weather pattern has not left the South!!   Add to the mix freezing rain as Pam left this morning for the hair dresser....and me having to don the North Face Parka and wear gloves and a stocking cap (that's right....GLOVES and STOCKING CAP) to walk with Ali this morning!!   (Some things just aren't right!!).

Everyone here we talk with says "we never get this kind of weather here"....or more aptly "we hardly ever get this kind of weather here".....well, either we are to blame for bringing it here with us or we are simply unlucky in the weather department.   That said, we are extremely lucky in other departments.....most notably the department of once again having a travel experience that is simply off the charts!!   You will have to wait for the next blog entries for all the details.....but to whet your appetites, here are the what's and wherefores:

WHAT:  A pre-Mardi Gras dinner and festive get together.
WHERE: At the Krewe of Houma facility on Capital Blvd. in the City of Houma, LA.
WHEN:  Last night, February 5th from 6 to 9pm.
WHY:  Because we are in Louisiana and this is what folks do as they get ready for Mardi Gras.
WHO:  All the great folks who are in the 50+ club of the Synergy Bank of Louisiana and members of the Krewe of Houma....we were the guests of new friends (and very special people), Roger and Carolyn Bourgeois of Houma.   Toss in others like Jackie and Reuben and the  Big Fun Band and some Mardi Gras beads and it was a great time and a wonderful experience.
............so Stay Tuned for all things MARDI GRAS!!
